Letter 5

when i came back from groccery-shopping , my neighbour told she had a package for me , i was surprised , didn`t order nothing , so she came out with a big package haha and saw the name of Chimène on it , so great , i knew there was something on his way to her , but didn`t expect this big hahaha .

this big package is from :

Karen B. - USA (Florida)

it was really amazing when chimène open up the package , there was really beautiful stuff in it what she can feel and also read a little bit about the place ENGLEWOOD in Florida .

  and follow her for a while and told her that we were really jealous that she could find such beautiful shells on the beaches were she lives , because we can`t find those here and look what she send to Chimène , because she loved to join this project  :

a great t-shirt with Florida on it and also the favorite animal of Chimène , so she was really trilled by that :)

a few information , a book about all kind of shells , so we can look what kind it all are , so  Chimène put it by her camping stuff , so that`s coming with her on our vacation hahaha and what do you think of all those great shells , really we looked our eyes out , so great , so beautiful , we can`t find those here  :(

Chimène gave me some of the shells , because she knows that i love it (i collect anything of the beach , shells , sanddollars , sharkteeth`s , even sand from all beaches of the world , well i try that hahaha) , sweet from her dont you think ?

it`s really great to see it so close and hold in our hands , so great , don`t know how old they will be , maybe it`s more than 100 years old , really don`t know .

she really love it and is going to wear the t-shirt this night in bed , because she love it a lot , you really made her day (and also mine`s , because it give`s me a smile if my daughter is happy)

we are going to buy a special cabinet for the beautiful shells for in her room

Letter 3 & 4

Chimène got 2 letters last week  :)

and they are from :

Kelly out Winnipeg - Canada

Kelly is 25 years old and live with her Dad and Grandma & puppy  in Canada and going back to school fall .

She loves to read , write , watch movies , listen to music , cooking , travel , take picture`s and meet people .

And she never been to the Netherlands , but hope to visit 1 day .

Chimène got a nice letter with a Metro newspaper , Zoo flyer , 3 pins , bookmarker , birthdaycard and a sweet bracelet from Kelly  .

About Winnipeg - Canada :

700.00 people lives in Winnipeg , the city started as a trading fort for furs between ethnic french , scots explores and the firts nation people .

the fort was called Fort Garry and there is still a litlle tiny bit of it standing downtown .

then a youg noble man from the UK , called "Selkirk" began a farming settlement .

the firts year nobody knew how cold it be for how long and they ran out of food and the traveld to a ford in the USA to survive .

the they had the problem of the rivers flooding at the time (all this was in the 1800`s)

there are 3 rivers that meet in the city , the Red , the Assnibone and the Serve , but the flooding makes the land around very rich and once the settlers adjusted to the new conditions the city grew .

Now they have aerospace & bus manufacturing , manny big truck companies , railway yards, the provinces goverment is based there and they still have a lot of agricultural buisness .

Marie is 23 years old and live`s in Denmark and tells she wrote letters when she was 6 years old and still love it a lot , so that`s why she send Chimène this letter with some loose stationary from pocahontas , very lovely and Chimène love it , because she also write letters with another dutch girl of her own age .

She`s trying to recieve letters from each country in the world and even from each American state .

she wrote a little bit about Denmark , that "the little Mermaid" is written by a Danish person : Hans Chritian Anderson .

Chimène got another letter and it`s from :

Marsha is 61 years old and lives in Wisconsin - USA and send a lot of intresthing stuff to read   :)

She`s also love to learn about other country`s and travelled to Denmark , England , Ireland , Romania , Italy , Greece & France .

Marsha tells about the city she lives in , about the peopleand thats there is a dutch ancestry , that`s really great to hear .

And she tells about the indians , farms , forest , beaches & lakes .

and also about football , well that`s really great , because the dad of Chimène play`s american football here , it`s sad that it isn`t a big sports here , so it was great to see the booklet about the Green Bay  :)

As you can see on the pictur , Marsha send a lot of brochure`s , even a map and some postcards , so Chimène can learn a lot about it .

1st LETTER

yeahhhh Chimène got her first letter today  :

it`s from Misha out Arizona - USA

Misha is 16 years old and a homeschooler and lives in Tucson , she moved from california to arizona .

she tells about the dessert and about the "Saguaros" cactus , really intresting  :)

and some history about AZ

so Chimene was really glad about it and she could smell the flowers and the creosote , it`s really have a heavy frangrance haha

Misha  , thank you so much for doing this , this is really great and chimène loved your letter and flowers , the postcards are also great , we are going to put this all in her scrapbook . (i will put some photo`s from the scrapbook after a few letters)

and you wrote in your letter : your wish is a wonderful one and im happy to be part of it , i don`t think there are many bright young people such as you so curious about the world , it`s a good thing .
